My Kind of School









Pretend that this summer, your family has decided to take a “learning vacation.” Options include participating in a dinosaur dig in Utah, exploring ancient ruins in Rome or Greece, or snorkeling at a coral reef off the Australian coast. Which one would you vote for? Write about three things you would like to explore, discover, or learn about on this vacation.  Your response must be at least half of a page long.  This extra credit is due by the end of the school day on Tuesday, May 31.

Theme:  Cleaning your Room





May 10 is National Clean Your Room Day.  Is your room clean and organized?  Or, is your room messy and disorganized?   Why is your room like this?  How often do you clean your room?  What types of things do you do to clean your room?  Do you think that people who are more organized are more successful?  Why or why not?  Please reflect on and answer these questions.  This extra credit is due by the end of the school day on Monday, May 16.

Theme:   April 16 was National Stress Awareness Day



Do you feel stressed? What are the causes of stress in your life? What do you do to try and stop being so stressed?  Advanced Placement Exams are taking place over the next few weeks what are you doing to combat stress and anxiety before, during, and after those important exams.  Please write at least half of a page in response to this prompt.

 Theme: The Titanic Disaster



The Titanic was billed as an unsinkable ship. Many saw the fact that it sunk as an example of what happens in extreme cases of hubris (arrogant pride). Do you believe that people who are overconfident and arrogant will always fail? Explain your answer.  Please write at least 1/2 of a page in response to this prompt.  This extra credit is due by the end of the school day on Monday, April 25.

Do you consider yourself an inside or outside person? In other words, do you like to hang out in your own home or spend time in nature? What types of activities do you like to participate in outside?
